1st in IRC, 1st in AMS and 1st in PHD gave Kiss Goodbye to MS (KGTMS) a trifecta of results in the RMYS club race on Saturday. Although not recognised in the race, we also managed a first over the line too!
The race started with a relatively gentle breeze but the predicted swing to the south happened quickly with breeze picking up to over 20 knots. KGTMS where second round the first mark, shortly after the start, and made it to the top mark still in second position to the much larger Ninety Seven.
As one of the few boats in the fleet to use a spinnaker, we accelerated away from the fleet on the downwind leg and kept close to Ninety Seven. On the upwind legs, Ninety Seven pulled a more distance out of us but, on the last windward beat, Ninety Seven retired from the race, which left the door open for KGTMS to claim line honours!
Well done team!

That was definately fun! Fingers crossed, the form is repeated at Christmas…
